Why Kinda?
Beyond definitions lays freedom.
Kinda (pronounced “Kainda”) is American slang for “kind of” and means “pretty much,” because in practice ours are swimsuits, but just looking at them is enough to understand that they are so much more. Wearable from day to night (and vice versa), they are also perfect paired with jeans or a long skirt.

Kinda 3D Swimwear was born in 2018 on the shores of Lake Bracciano (in the province of Rome), from the pencil of Alessandra Durastanti, who today runs the company together with a team of wonderful women.
From design to packaging, including manufacturing, everything is made in Italy, using the finest fabrics and all the expertise of our seamstresses.
We are proud to collaborate with local artisans and support local employment, preserving Italian manufacturing traditions and promoting a responsible, eco-sustainable economy.
This combination of high-quality Italian design and sustainability makes every Kinda 3D Swimwear piece a statement of style and responsibility.
Why 3D?
Our signature.
What sets Kinda 3D Swimwear apart is the creation of garments using the three-dimensional sewing technique “Fabric Manipulation,” a tailoring art that focuses on creating 3D and textured effects on fabrics.
This technique involves folding, gathering, pleating, cutting, and other fabric manipulations to create volume and structural effects.
Our tailors use hand and machine embroidery, quilting, irregular pleating, and draping to transform a flat fabric into a unique and dynamic piece. The result is three-dimensional details that add depth and character to Kinda 3D Swimwear garments and resortwear.
Sustainability
Nature and respect: for ourselves, for others, for our planet.
We have a deep connection with nature, which is why we chose to make our swimwear exclusively from ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon yarn made from waste materials such as industrial plastic, used carpets, textile scraps, and fishing nets recovered from all over the world.

Behind the brand
Alessandra Durastanti: mind, pencil and soul.
Kinda 3D Swimwear was born from my desire to challenge conventions.
I have always considered the one-piece swimsuit a versatile garment with endless potential (as well as a comfortable and chic one), and after working for 7 years as a Brand Manager for some of the most famous fashion brands in the world (including Gucci, Hugo Boss, and Alexander McQueen), I decided to create Kinda (which in American slang means “pretty much”), because in practice I design swimsuits, but in reality they can be worn far beyond the beach!
The delicate 3D embellishments make them, in fact, unique sartorial jewels, to be worn even at sunset or for a poolside party.
Today I manage the marketing of Kinda 3D Swimwear and work as a marketing consultant for other beautiful brands.
Together with me there’s a team of wonderful women.
