When it is the right thing to do, we have no excuse.
Respect is not a choice.
We firmly believe that sustainability means respect, and respect is not a choice, it’s a must. For us, it has never been and never will be.
For us, sustainability is synonymous with responsibility, a way of life that permeates all our choices: from the selection of fabrics—exclusively sustainable—to our suppliers, which are 100% Italian (so that our fabrics and accessories do not travel unnecessary kilometers), to the choice of packaging and our tailoring workshop: very close to our office in order to reduce the distance between production and warehouse.
Discover how we create beauty while respecting our Planet and the people who work with us.
Made in Italy
“Made in Italy” primarily means excellent quality standards, which translate into durable, long-lasting garments and therefore a lower environmental impact.
Furthermore, we choose to work with Italian suppliers in order to reduce the number of kilometers traveled by the fabrics before reaching our tailoring laboratory.
Our swimwear is then made by a tailoring atelier adjacent to our office, allowing us to manage production while also reducing our travel.
Moreover, producing in Italy means fair wages, working hours, and adequate rights for all the people who work with us.
This was one of our first decisions, and it was not an easy one. The costs of raw materials, accessories, paddings, and packaging made in Italy are higher than those produced in other parts of the world.
But we believe there are higher values that go beyond individual ones, beyond profit.
This is our conscious path, even though we know there are cheaper and easier choices.
We are simply not interested.
Only ECONYL® regenerated thread for our bikinis.
We had the goal of converting all our production to sustainable fabrics by the end of 2022. And we did!
All our swimwear is made from ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon yarn made from waste materials such as industrial plastic, used carpets, textile scraps, and fishing nets recovered from around the world.
It’s sustainable because it is infinitely recyclable!
Nylon waste, which would otherwise pollute the Earth, is recovered and transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon, which has the same characteristics as conventional nylon but can be regenerated, recreated, and remolded infinitely. This means that we can create, and you can purchase new products without the need to use new resources.
FOR EVERY 10,000 TONS OF ECONYL® RAW MATERIAL, 70,000 BARRELS OF CRUDE OIL ARE SAVED AND 65,100 TONS OF CO₂ EMISSIONS ARE AVOIDED.
This process makes it possible to reduce the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared to material derived from petroleum.
We believe that a better future starts with today’s choices, and that a better future is only possible if we produce less and reduce our environmental impact during production.
No waste. No new resources. Just infinite beauty.
Where does ECONYL® come from?
Old carpets
Otherwise destined for landfills. To give you an idea, every year in the United States alone, 1.8 million tons of carpet are discarded and sent to landfills.
Fishing nets
Sourced from aquaculture and the fishing industry, as well as ghost nets recovered from the sea. In 2021, 188,500 kg of fishing nets were recovered by volunteer divers and collected in partnership with fish farms around the world.
Pre-consumer waste
Pre-consumer waste refers to scraps from industrial processes such as plastic components, industrial offcuts, and fabric waste.
Paper packaging
Our hang tags, flyers and labels are made from 100% recycled plant fiber and are 100% recyclable, while our boxes are made from FSC-certified recyclable paper. We chose rigid cardboard boxes so that you can also use them to store your swimsuit, your jewelry, or any other precious item you wish to take care of.
We have never used plastic in our production process, so why should we use it in our packaging?
Our sustainability path
1. Raw materials
We committed to converting all our production to sustainable fabrics by 2022. And we succeeded! As of June 2022, all our collections are made with recycled and infinitely regenerable fabrics, and we could not be prouder!
2. Production
In addition to ensuring high quality standards, we chose to work exclusively with Italian suppliers to reduce the kilometers traveled by our fabrics. Our swimwear is also made by a tailoring workshop just a few steps from our office, so we can manage production without unnecessary travel.
3. Packaging
We have never used plastic in our production cycle, and we never will! We chose to make our packaging from FSC-certified paper and cardboard because we believe packaging is beautiful only if it is sustainable.
4. Shipments
We chose to ship our creations with DHL, a partner committed to reducing and offsetting CO₂ emissions: last-mile kilometers are covered with electric vehicles, 70% to 86% of electricity is produced from renewable sources, and urban deliveries are carried out using bicycles whenever possible.
